Storage & Stability
Correct storage is important for maintaining the integrity of research peptides and compounds. Storage requirements can vary between products and batches, so batch-specific documentation should always take precedence over general guidance.
Lyophilised Research Peptides
Research peptides supplied in lyophilised (freeze-dried) form should be kept sealed, dry and protected from direct light and moisture.
For longer-term storage, sealed lyophilised peptides are generally stored frozen at approximately -20°C, unless the applicable product or batch documentation specifies otherwise.
For short-term holding, some products may be suitable for refrigerated storage at 2–8°C where supported by the relevant documentation.
Temperature Changes
Repeated movement between cold storage and room temperature should be avoided where possible.
Temperature cycling can encourage condensation inside a vial, particularly if a cold vial is opened before it has reached ambient temperature.
Where appropriate, allow a sealed cold vial to reach room temperature before opening to reduce the risk of condensation.
Light
Research peptides should be protected from direct sunlight and strong ultraviolet exposure.
Some peptide sequences may be particularly sensitive to light depending on their amino-acid composition.
Moisture
Lyophilised materials can absorb moisture from the surrounding environment.
Vials should therefore remain properly sealed and should not be exposed unnecessarily to humid conditions.
Products in Solution
Materials in solution are generally less stable than their sealed lyophilised form.
Storage conditions and stability after preparation depend on the specific compound, solvent system and experimental protocol.

NAD+
NAD+ can be sensitive to temperature changes and may show changes in physical appearance under cold storage conditions.
Crystallisation can occur with some nucleotide compounds during temperature changes and should be assessed alongside the relevant batch documentation rather than appearance alone.
Batch Documentation
Where a Certificate of Analysis, Safety Data Sheet or manufacturer storage specification is provided for a particular product or batch, that information takes precedence over the general guidance on this page.
